Nice to meet you.

I’m Laura Brown—a designer, writer and image-maker based in Winchester. I create thoughtful, character-led brands: rooted in clarity, shaped with care, and made to last.

My approach is considered, quiet and precise. I begin by listening—attentively, intuitively—to uncover the heart of a business and its story. I believe design is not just how something looks, but how it feels, what it communicates, and what it invites others to feel in return.

I studied at Winchester School of Art and the University of Brighton, and spent the early part of my career refining my eye and voice at The Future Laboratory, the Financial Times, and The School of Life. Each place sharpened something different—strategy, ideas, craft, curiosity, human connection, and creative clarity.

Since 2017, I’ve worked independently with clients across retail, hospitality, beauty, food and lifestyle—guiding them through identity, illustration, photography, packaging and digital design. My work favours elegance over noise, meaning over trend, detail over decoration. Design, for me, is tactile and typographic, narrative-led and built to endure.

At its best, branding is an atmosphere—a world you create and invite others into. That’s what I help shape: work with soul, distinction, and a clear point of view.

A personal approach.

Laura Brown Studio
An Independent Design Practice

Quality is a quiet marker of care. It builds trust, shapes how a
brand feels, and signals that something has been made with intention.

Laura Brown Studio offers a calm, considered alternative to the noise—working closely with clients to create design that’s thoughtful, characterful, and rooted in clarity. There’s no big-agency structure here, just direct dialogue and attention to the things that matter.

The studio remains deliberately small, bringing in trusted collaborators when needed. The result: design that feels personal, purposeful, and distinctly yours.
