Laura Brown works with practices
and organisations to define how they articulate their work, position themselves within culture, and engage the audiences that matter.
Laura Brown is a communications and brand strategist working across the built environment, hospitality, retail and cultural sectors. Her work focuses on how practices define and express their position, clarifying what they stand for, how they are perceived, and how they communicate with different audiences.
She has worked with founders, directors and creative teams to shape communications across a range of contexts, from independent studios to established businesses. This includes brand strategy, messaging frameworks, campaigns, editorial platforms and identity systems.
Her approach is both strategic and applied. Alongside defining direction, she works closely with teams to translate this into practice, across digital platforms, publications, environments and content.
She is particularly interested in place-led work, and in how design, language and narrative can operate together to build coherent and recognisable identities over time.
Laura previously worked with organisations including The Future Laboratory, Financial Times and The School of Life. She is now based in Winchester, where
she works independently and in collaboration with a network of writers, designers and makers.

“ Even as a creative person, sometimes it’s hard to articulate the design ideas I have in mind, but Laura not only grasped my aesthetic, she exceeded my expectations for bringing my vision to life. ’’

“ I am so grateful for Laura's patience, expertise, and vision in shaping the Madge & Ivy Flowers. Laura’s meticulous attention to detail has perfectly captured the generational roots and heart of Madge & Ivy Flowers, along with my love for nostalgic floriculture. Her kindness, humour, and unwavering support throughout a difficult year have meant so much. I’m beyond proud of what we’ve created together! “

“ Laura is a delight to work with. She is good at steering a brand's direction and maintaining consistency and is excellent at translating stakeholder needs into a vision - creative direction or brand messaging. She is also a great team player: good at building and maintaining positive working relationships.”

We love a seriously good, thoughtful mind; Laura does not disappoint. No one is better at exploring your DNA with an objectivity impossible to generate yourself than Laura. No one explores your head, heart and soul with greater sensitivity - or quest for personal truth than Laura. Her intuition - based on a reservoir of references impressive in the breadth and depth of their range - draws out and expresses your sensibility so accurately as to be literally breathtaking. We were delighted before; we are doubly so on this new occasion. Bravo, Laura - and thank you most profoundly.
