Made Well Made Here
Celebrating Regional Craftsmanship
The Project
Made Well Made Here was conceived as a campaign to discover and celebrate makers across the British Isles who bring unique stories and exceptional craftsmanship to their creations. The campaign sought to showcase these makers at Long Barn and advocate for shortening supply chains and supporting regionally made goods.
Laura was tasked with bringing this campaign to life through a full-spectrum creative approach, including naming, ideation, copywriting, photography, illustration, website design and build and digital and printed promotional materials.
The Naming
The name Made Well Made Here was carefully crafted to encapsulate the essence of the campaign: goods of quality, integrity, and local origin. Naming is critical in any initiative of this scale—it must resonate, inspire, and be instantly memorable. This name achieved that, succinctly reflecting the campaign’s criteria and ethos.
Visual Identity and Copywriting
The campaign’s visual identity and language were designed to invite and inspire potential entrants while communicating the ethos of regional craft to customers. Copywriting was pivotal in establishing trust and sparking interest among makers while also signalling the campaign’s values to Long Barn’s audience.
The tone was thoughtful yet celebratory, balancing professionalism and warmth. Every piece of collateral carried this consistent voice, from press releases to swing tags and adverts.
Digital Presence
A dedicated microsite was developed under the Made Well Made Here domain. This served as both a promotional platform and a practical lead-capture tool. The site streamlined the administration of the campaign, allowing the Long Barn team to track and process hundreds of entries efficiently.
To further amplify the campaign’s reach, Laura designed social media GIFs and digital content that celebrated the makers and encouraged engagement from entrants and customers.
In-Store Experience
Printed materials—posters, swing tags, and point-of-sale signage—created a cohesive in-store presence for the campaign. These tangible touchpoints invited customers to connect with the stories behind the products, deepening their appreciation for the makers and their crafts.
The Outcome
The Made Well Made Here campaign was a resounding success. It generated hundreds of leads, spotlighted a curated selection of craftspeople, and brought beautiful, regionally made goods to Long Barn’s customers. The campaign reinforced Long Barn’s reputation as a forward-thinking independent retailer, positioning it as a local craft and sustainable supply chain champion.
"Craft is not just about the end product—it’s about the stories, the places, and the people behind them. Made Well Made Here allowed us to celebrate these narratives while bringing meaningful, regionally made goods to Long Barn’s customers. It was a joy to create a campaign that connected so many threads of craft, commerce, and community." – Laura Brown
