Travelling in Japan

In 2018 I took a trip to Japan with designer Sarah Ferrari and Illustrator Phillip Dennis, whom happens to speak what he calls ‘Survival Japanese’ - just enough to get by, find the right train, order Ramen and express thanks with a bit more feeling. We planned our trip fairly meticulously beforehand to make the most of each and every day. It did mean, however, that we were constantly in transit - always packing, unpacking, getting a train, checking in somewhere, checking out of the somewhere, looking for good ramen, etc etc. We covered a lot of ground: Tokyo, Kyoto, Naoshima, Nara, Osaka, Okayama, Koyasan and Mount Fuji.
