Madge & Ivy Flowers
A Personal Journey in Brand Design

Sometimes, what you don’t see happening on the surface is where all the magic grows. Like flowers waiting to bud, brand stories need time to root deeply. Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of cultivating a meaningful brand with Julie at Madge & Ivy Flowers, and the result is as rich and layered as the blooms she grows.

A Legacy in Bloom

Julie’s vision was deeply personal. She wanted a brand honouring her family’s heritage of flower growing and gardening—a story inspired by her grandmothers, Madge and Ivy. We started by delving into this legacy, finding inspiration in her story's textures, tones, and timelessness.

The result was a handwritten logo that feels like it has always belonged in the garden—a subtle nod to vintage seed packet labels from the 1930s. This organic and personal logo became the anchor for the brand’s visual identity.

Bringing the Story to Life

Julie’s new website captures the heart and soul of Madge & Ivy Flowers. The About page and Gallery (or ‘Album’ as we call it) are filled with family photos interwoven with images of her lush floral arrangements and thriving gardens. This digital space celebrates her family’s love story with the earth, preserving moments that span generations.

Beyond aesthetics, the site reflects Julie’s ethos of sustainable floristry. Visitors can explore her latest jottings, immerse themselves in her workshops, or revel in the beauty of her floral creations. Every page is designed to invite users into Julie’s flower-filled world, where heritage and craftsmanship meet.

A Collaborative Process

This project was more than a design brief; it was a profoundly personal collaboration. Working closely with Julie, we ensured every detail—from the choice of typography to the gentle transitions on the site—echoed her values and the quiet wonder of her story.
