Joanne Bowles Jewellery
Joanne Bowles Jewellery sits between craft and authorship, an independent practice shaped as much by place as by process.
An RCA-trained jeweller, Joanne had built a loyal following through her Winchester studio, yet her work was largely understood within the framework of a collective identity. The opportunity was not to redefine the work, but to clarify it.
The project centred on establishing a distinct voice, one that reflected both the intimacy of the studio and the rigour of the practice.
Place became central. The historic trade quarters of Winchester were not treated as backdrop, but as influence, visible in the materials, textures, and pace of the work itself.
The studio was positioned as it is: a working environment where making and conversation unfold together. What emerged is less a rebrand than a shift in perception, from being part of something, to being recognised in its own right.
